Gloria packs her bags, slips in a Beretta, loads up her car and picks up her two daughters from school, leaving everything behind and hitting the road in a hurry. It's a radical change of life for the trio, who, equipped with the bare essentials, move into Gloria's childhood house on the shores of an abysmal lake, to cut themselves off from the world... or to cover their tracks.
