11-year-old Léo hunts with his father Arnaud. Arnaud insists that his son kill his first pigeon today, shortly before he turns twelve, so that he can become a hunter according to tradition. Léo is fascinated by his father, who hardly deserves it. Blinded by his admiration and his desire to be like him, Léo submits to Arnaud's will. However, Arnaud's clumsiness and brutality make Léo lose his illusions and reconsider his desire to become a hunter.
